About the Event
Leading this conversation will be:

  • Trial attorney giants Harvey Weitz `54 and Andrew Weitz `98 who will talk about settlements from the lawyer’s perspective, bringing in real-world examples and personal anecdotes
  • Hon. Marsha Steinhardt `72, Justice of the NYS Supreme Court, Kings County and presiding judge in the Medical Malpractice Trial Readiness Part, who will give an overview of judicial settlements, the pros and cons, and also impart advice and insight into how she settles cases; and
  • Hon. Allen Hurkin-Torres `91, Retired Justice, Supreme Court, State of New York, Private mediator/arbitrator with JAMS, who will discuss mediated settlements, the pros and cons, and his methods, advice, and best practices for bringing parties together to settle.
