New Panelist Announcement

LOS ANGELES – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Hon. Rosalyn Chapman (Ret). Judge Chapman will be based in the JAMS Los Angeles Resolution Center and serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a variety of disputes, including Business/Commercial, Civil Rights, Employment and Intellectual Property.

Prior to joining JAMS, Judge Chapman served as Magistrate Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California for almost 16 years, and was recalled to serve in the District Courts for the Northern District of California and Arizona. She has conducted more than 400 settlement conferences and managed discovery and related proceedings in thousands of cases, including multi-district litigation. Prior to her appointment to the federal bench, Judge Chapman served for 18 years as an administrative law judge for the State of California.  As such, she presided over myriad types of professional and vocational licensing hearings, including medical malpractice and construction defect matters, as well as public and private employment cases.

“Judge Chapman has an excellent reputation for bringing parties together, no matter the complexities or sensitivities involved,” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “We’re so pleased to have her join our panel.”

“I believe ADR offers parties an excellent alternative to costly litigation,” said Judge Chapman. “I look forward to working with attorneys to create the best resolutions possible for their clients’ disputes. I am truly excited to join the panel of talented neutrals in Los Angeles.”

Judge Chapman received her B.A. from the University of Michigan and her J.D. from University of California, Berkeley School of Law.
