Global Pound Conference Series

Events

IRVINE, Calif. – JAMS is proud to announce it will be a Silver Sponsor of the Global Pound Conference series for 2016-2017. The GPC Series is organized by the International Mediation Institute (IMI) and will launch with a two-day opening conference in Singapore on March 17-18, 2016. The last event will take place in London in July 2017.

Currently 36 events are planned in 23 countries on the broad subject of “Shaping the Future of Dispute Resolution and Improving Access to Justice.” The aim of this worldwide conference series is to create a modern conversation about developing dispute resolution around the world in commercial and civil conflicts and to highlight the choices available to disputants.

JAMS will be actively involved in planning and hosting sessions in locations such as London, New York, San Francisco, Miami, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and Texas.

JAMS is proud to support the Global Pound Conference and do our part to help increase access to ADR around the world. We look forward to sharing our experiences and learning from the other stakeholders as we all work together towards improving alternative dispute resolution processes worldwide.

- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

Major stakeholders in dispute resolution – including corporates, lawyers, academics, judges, arbitrators, mediators, policy makers, chambers of commerce, government officials and others – will collaborate around the world, sharing views on how to provide access to appropriate justice systems to all disputants. These conferences are intended to initiate conversations on existing tools and techniques, stimulate new ideas and generate actionable data on what corporate and individual dispute resolution users actually need and want, both locally and globally.

Each event will use a technology platform to enable all participants to vote on a set of standardized core questions, as well as submit their own views on the future of dispute resolution, what tools are required, and how to modernize the dispute resolution landscape, taking into account the needs and wishes of users to provide access to appropriate justice systems. The global reach of the GPC series will allow local, regional and global perspectives to be explored.

The GPC Series will culminate in a report at the end of 2017, which will interpret the data gathered globally to help shape how dispute resolution can be improved to ensure access to justice in the future.
