NEW YORK – JAMS is proud to serve as a Silver Sponsor of the iconic Global Pound Conference (GPC) series, which aims to improve the way disputes are resolved in the business environment.

JAMS is thrilled to support the Global Pound Conference and work together as we increase access to ADR around the world.

- Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

The historic Pound Conference, originally named in honour of Roscoe Pound, dean of Harvard Law School in the 1920s and 30s, was originally held in the U.S. in 1975 and led to the birth of the modern dispute resolution system.

Now, 40 years later, a new worldwide GPC Series will play host to more than 5,000 people, in 40 cities across 31 countries worldwide, over the next 12 months. In addition to gathering valuable data from each conference, the GPC will create the opportunity to identify trends and cultural preferences in a way that has not been possible through any previous studies.

The GPC Americas leg will kick off on September 12, 2016 at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. Robert B. Davidson, Esq. from JAMS will serve as a speaker. The conference is set to look at the significant impact the original Pound Conference had on the whole movement globally, as well as share best practice and the latest developments from across the world to streamline the whole ADR process in the U.S.

Using a common technology platform, participants will answer and discuss 20 core questions, which will create a pool of data that will be gathered and analysed throughout the entire GPC Series.

Dates for additional GPC events in the U.S. and Canada are as follows: Toronto, Canada, October 15, 2016; Miami, January 19, 2017; Austin, Texas, January 26, 2017; San Francisco, February 24, 2017; Los Angeles, March 16, 2017; and Washington DC, April 24, 2017.
