Patrick M. Norton Joins JAMS in New York

New Panelist Announcement

NEW YORK – JAMS, the largest private provider of mediation and arbitration services worldwide, today announced the addition of Patrick M. Norton to its panel. Mr. Norton will be based in the JAMS New York Resolution Center. He will serve as a mediator and arbitrator and in a variety of disputes including Business/Commercial, Government/Public Entity and Trade Law matters.

Prior to joining JAMS, Mr. Norton served as a partner in several international law firms in Atlanta, Beijing, London, Shanghai and Washington, D.C. He practiced as a registered foreign lawyer in China for more than six years and served as a managing partner of a major law firm’s Beijing office from 2002 until 2005. He also practiced as a registered foreign lawyer in the U.K. for two years where he was co-chair of his firm’s international arbitration practice.

Mr. Norton has been involved in international arbitration and mediation throughout his 40-year career. He has acted as an arbitrator in more than a dozen cases in the U.S., Europe, and Asia under the ICC, ICDR, HKIAC, and UNCITRAL rules. He also previously served with the U.S. Department of State, where he received the highest public service awards granted to federal employees from two Presidents. Mr. Norton has published extensively in the fields of arbitration, anti-corruption, public international law, international commercial law and Chinese law.

Mr. Norton received his B.A. from University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from the Harvard Law School. He is proficient in Mandarin and in written Chinese and has limited proficiency in French and German.
