Atlanta – JAMS, the largest private provider of ADR services worldwide, is pleased to announce the addition of Hon. William S. Duffey (Ret.) to its panel. Judge Duffey will be based in the Atlanta Resolution Center and will serve as an arbitrator, mediator and special master in a wide variety of disputes, including antitrust, civil rights, class actions, employment, insurance, intellectual property, personal injury and products liability.
Judge Duffey joins JAMS following a distinguished career on the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia. Prior to his appointment to the federal bench, Judge Duffey served as a United States Attorney in Atlanta, where he managed all civil cases brought on behalf of or against the United States, including qui tam, medical malpractice and personal injury actions, as well as all criminal prosecutions.
Judge Duffey has built his reputation on his ability to grasp complex facts and handle cases with objectivity and patience. I’m happy to welcome him to the JAMS team and know that he will be an excellent addition in Atlanta.

Earlier in his career, Judge Duffey was a partner at King & Spalding, specializing in complex commercial, banking and government fraud, and product liability matters. He also had a substantial practice in conducting complex internal corporate investigations, giving him unique insights into company and agency internal operations, organization, cultures and leadership.
Dispute resolution requires objectivity, commitment and innovation, and I welcome the opportunity to help guide parties in the resolution process. I look forward to performing this role and offering my perspective and insight based on what I’ve learned from over 40 years as a judge and litigator.

Judge Duffey received his B.A. in English, with Honors, from Drake University, and he earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
