JAMS and Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center to form New Asia-Pacific Panel

New Asia-Pacific Panel formed to service domestic and international markets

General Announcements

Irvine, Calif. JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services and the Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (SCMC) today announced the creation of a joint panel of mediators in order to expand efforts to more fully serve domestic and international markets.

The panel will consist of seven expert neutrals situated in Hong Kong and Mainland China, and offers expertise alongside market-leading professional, cross-cultural and linguistic skills. The individual panel members represent decades of professional experience across a range of commercial sectors in the Asia-Pacific region including construction, insurance, IP, banking, energy and tech.

JAMS has had a close relationship with SCMC and I am delighted to be collaborating with them once again as we continue to expand our marketing-leading offering to clients operating in the Asia-Pacific region. The formation of this latest panel further demonstrates our consistent commitment and ability to provide top-quality solutions from expert neutrals across the world, and give attorneys even greater access to the expertise required for complex, international commercial dispute resolution.

-Chris Poole, JAMS President and CEO

The addition of the China-based experts to the JAMS panel comes at an important time in global commercial trade and will enable us to provide far greater support to those seeking resolution of commercial disputes. Drawing upon our proud record of working together, we are delighted to be able to offer an even greater international perspective through JAMS’ unique global network.

-Zhang Wei, Director at Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (SCMC)

The announcement comes at a time of significant growth in China for JAMS, which also recently announced the formation of a new Sino-American panel in conjunction with the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration (SCIA). This new joint panel will be focused primarily on the resolution of Sino-American commercial disputes in the technology, media, and entertainment and sports industries.
