Hon. Wendy L. Shoob, Senior Judge, Joins JAMS in Atlanta

Experienced Fulton County Superior Court judge joins JAMS as a mediator, arbitrator, and special master

New Panelist Announcement

Atlanta – JAMS, the largest private provider of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services, is pleased to welcome Hon. Wendy L. Shoob, Senior Judge, to its panel. Judge Shoob joins JAMS after 24 years on the Fulton County State Court and Superior Court benches. Serving on the Fulton County Superior Court for 20 years, she participated in the creation of the Fulton County Business Court and the Fulton County Family Division. Judge Shoob served two terms in the Family Division, including as chief judge. She also served as associate chief judge of the Fulton County Superior Court and chair of the Business Court Division.

Based in the Atlanta Resolution Center, Judge Shoob will serve as a mediator, arbitrator and special master in a variety of practice areas, including business/commercial, employment, family law, insurance, personal injury, probate and professional liability.

Judge Shoob has developed invaluable skills that enable her to analyze and resolve cases in a straightforward and efficient manner. We are looking forward to having her bring her experience with managing and resolving conflict to the JAMS panel in Atlanta.

While on the bench, Judge Shoob handled and tried hundreds of civil, criminal and domestic relations motions, as well as jury and non-jury trials. For the last two years, Judge Shoob has mediated family, personal injury, probate, commercial and real estate disputes through the Fulton County Alternative Dispute Resolution Office.

Throughout my career, I’ve been interested in resolving disputes by trying to connect with people and understand their motivations. Joining the JAMS panel will allow me to continue doing work that I am passionate about in a supportive environment.

Prior to becoming a judge in Fulton County, Judge Shoob was an associate and partner in the family law firm of Warner, Mayoue & Bates. She started her legal career as a trial attorney at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), followed by eight years as a prosecutor in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office. 

Judge Shoob received her B.A., With Distinction, from the University of Virginia and earned her J.D. from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University.
