JAMS International & Cross Border Mediation

The 2012 ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition heads to Paris!

Now in its seventh year, The ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition is the only moot devoted exclusively to international commercial mediation. The annual event, starting Feb. 3 in Paris, is organized by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Throughout the Competition, university students face complex, international business problems, which they attempt to resolve through mediation, under the ICC Amicable Dispute Resolution (ADR) Rules. Students get the unique opportunity to exercise their problem-solving skills in mock mediations guided by professional mediators. Their performance is evaluated by some of the world’s leading dispute resolution specialists who participate in the Competition as judges.

Recognized for its important contribution to nurturing best practices in cross-border business mediation, the Competition enjoys the support of practitioners, academics, law firms and corporations around the world.

The 2012 Competition will feature around 200 mock mediation sessions, as well as numerous training programs and social events. Around 60 university teams, as well as more than 120 professional mediators and other ADR professionals from all around the world are expected to attend.
