JAMS Panelist Craig S. Meredith, Esq. Nominated for Prestigious “Ollie” Award

Panelist News Awards
San Francisco – JAMS is proud to announce that one of its neutrals, Craig S. Meredith, Esq., has been nominated for the 2013 West Coast Casualty Jerrold S. Oliver Award of Excellence. The award will be presented during the 20th Annual West Coast Casualty Construction Defect Seminar at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, Calif. on May 16.

Named after the late Judge Jerrold S. Oliver, a JAMS mediator and arbitrator and a “founding father” in using ADR to resolve construction claims, this award recognizes an individual who is outstanding or has contributed to the betterment of the construction community with the same spirit of commitment, loyalty and trust as displayed by Judge Oliver. The award is affectionately known as the “Ollie Award.” The organization puts out a call for nominees from 12,000 members of the construction community.

“We are so proud that Craig has been nominated for the ‘Ollie Award,’” said Chris Poole, JAMS president and CEO. “He is one of the most talented neutrals in the construction arena and is most certainly deserving of this nomination.”

Mr. Meredith has served as a mediator in hundreds of cases, involving complex insurance disputes, including construction defect cases, inter-carrier and insured-carrier disputes, broker disputes, bad faith litigation, bodily injury suits, and other disputes. Additionally, he has participated in more than 400 settlements of major construction litigation as coverage counsel for the developer or general contractor.

Previous recipients of the “Ollie Award” include JAMS neutrals George D. Calkins, Esq., Bruce A. Edwards, Esq., Ross W. Feinberg, Esq. and Gerald A. Kurland, Esq. have also received the “Ollie Award.”
