Background and Education

Hon. Wendy L. Shoob, Senior Judge, joins JAMS after 24 years on the Fulton County State Court and Superior Court benches. During two decades on the Fulton County Superior Court, she served as associate chief judge and handled and tried hundreds of civil, criminal and domestic relations motions, as well as jury and non-jury trials. Judge Shoob also participated in the creation of the Business Court, where she served as chair, and the Family Division, where she served two terms, including as chief judge.

Since 2017, Judge Shoob has mediated family, personal injury, probate, commercial and real estate disputes through the Fulton County Alternative Dispute Resolution Office.

Prior to becoming a judge, Judge Shoob was an associate and partner in the family law firm of Warner, Mayoue & Bates. She started her legal career as a trial attorney at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), followed by eight years as a prosecutor in the Fulton County District Attorney’s office. 

Judge Shoob is known for her skill in resolving cases prior to trial through active case management, efficient resolution of issues and straightforward analysis of the parties’ legal positions.

  • Served on Fulton County Superior Court as former chief judge of Family Division, associate chief judge and chair of the Business Court
